Not sure what you mean by 'deleted' it, unless you're saying you connected it to a different computer and whiped it.
Anyways, what you'll need to do is install windows. It's pretty simple to do, though if you don't have the drivers for your computer's hardware you'll need to find some place to download them as you may not be able to connect to the internet.
Once you have windows installed, do a web search for 'AVG FREE' and download and install it. It's a free AV program.

What is the logmon.log file in my c: drive for? The OS is WinXP SP2. The file is almost 1GB. Can I delete it?
If you have this belkin and these guys are right, looks like you can just prune it down and write protect it. I would also suggest creating a new file with notepad with the same filename as a replacement, and write protect the empty file, then deleting the 1gb file.

DO NOT. They are hidden for a reason. They are actually critical registry files used to uninstall components in the registry left behind by programs. If you delete it, you can be stuck with a program you can't remove completely.

you should then click on to defragment the hard drive this will tidy up and clean the rest and organise it nice and neatly to run faster! do this overnight or while you not using the computer can take 2+ hours sometimes if you've never doen it before.

I'm guessing that when you start your computer you can get a option to boot from either and thats why your asking? You need to edit and delete it from your boot.ini file. It might seem like a lot of trouble, but with new updates coming online all the time it might be an easier option in the long run to just start again from scratch

recently before this post, I took some measures to clean my computer of virus and grayware, which there were a lot, and did some disk defgramentation, which was at about 35 percent. The file in question is a folder named "23d54fle3dc3ebc3cba6fe0b," which has another folder inside of it named "7757c09F9d6abc44877b5." I'm pretty sure this is a virus.

probably virus or spyware. use spybot S%26amp;D and Adaware and AVG Antivirus to get rid of it. Try just deleting it but it might be deeper then that. you can get those programs from download.com

Im using avart antivirus and it detected a virus called C:/WINDOWS.MEMORY.DMP, is this safe to delete?
I have Avast! antivirus also (Avast Home 4.7), and just ran it this morning. I routinely delete any viruses it identifies, and have never had a problem attributable to no longer having the infected file on my computer. I would rather do a system restore to the factory settings (or the less drastic version which keeps some of the software you've installed) than keep any infected files on my computer.

Formatting does not overwrite the disk data. It may be possible to recover information off a formatted hard drive. If you want to erase all the data off your hard drive so it can not be recovered, including viruses you need to overwrite the entire disk.

Actually, even if you can "delete" access to an account, unless the hard drive where it is stored is wiped clean/erased properly the info is still there until i gets overwritten o few times. Now you have to be good to get it back but I once had all my deleted mail reloaded into my account - like magic - what a pain going through and deleting it all again. All these "providers" have massive storage capabilities so almost any data that has ever been on line still "exists" - You are being watched :)). If you are talking about deleting someone else be prepared to pay the price as you may get charged with an illegal activity . . . (but it's ok for big brother LOL - well not so funny but true . . .

Screensavers aren't going to be taking up too much space, usually something around a KB or two. So unless you haev thousands, I'd suggest finding something else to delete.

I do too: when you scanf the values, that function (scanf) leaves the carriage-return (= you pressing ENTER) in the buffer. You expect to getchar() one of the operators, but instead you read that carriage return...

It might be a good idea to find out what is on the d partition. Most Dell high end pc's come from the factory with an image of ur c/drive O.S. which makes it very easy and quick to reinstall ur windows O.S. U don't want to reformat that if u have it because once u loose it, it can't be replaced. Clik start%26gt;right clik my computer%26gt;clik manage%26gt;clik disc management and it will show all ur partitions, then right clik the d partition and it shud give u some idea whats on it. If there's nothing u need on the d partition this is the place to delete it. Then insert ur windows disc (make sure u can boot from ur rom) and in the installation process windows will reformat ur drive for u. just follow it along and answer a few questions.

Reply:It is not possible to uninstall but if you note the details of your existing account an delete the account, you could then create an account with a different name but the same details. Before you do this you could save any other emails you wish to keep in a folder. The best way is to create an Old Emails folder in My Documents. When you start up using the new account you should be free of the offending email.

Lately I've been trying to figure out what's eating up the space on my HDD, and I did a search for files over 100000KB to find out which files are eating up what little space I have on my 30GB hard drive. I discovered that the major space eating files were ones without a file ending, like "example.txt", but the files don't have an ending like .txt or anything else like it attached to them. If a screen dump of the search results, please let me know and I'll email it to you. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Nortons is a real nightmare to delete. Nortons leaves behind about 375 fragments, glued to all your files, folders, registry and hidden all over your system. When you go to add/remove you only think that Nortons has been removed. The fragments are still left and will cause you conflict with your system.
Here is a link for free software, Delete Doctor 2.1 that I use. This program will delete any write protected dll, file, folder, etc. etc. (If you follow the instructions will work 100%, as I have deleted write protected files, folders %26amp; dll's.

When you find Nortons, open logo, and continue to open until you have the same logo for Nortons that is on your monitor. Then you will add this logo to Delete Doctor. Now open start, run and type in: c://program files, and double click on browse, and open program files, and look for Nortons, file, open and delete the file.
Now you want to go back to start, search, type in Nortons, %26amp; their other name with "S", seperate, scans, an anything that is found delete from the top down. Perform the scan wtih both names.
You can also download after the above is completed, a free software that is excellent. CCleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com Clean your HDD, and then clean your registry for issues. Any issue found will be backed up to your documents with the registry keys.
