How do I delete all the history when I type words into the "search" box.?

Ok, I have typed alot of different things in the "search" bar..and some were very private to do with Xmas gifts etc. For instance I type "womens watches".. now everytime I begin to type in another word with the letter "w", everything I ever typed in using the letter "w" pops up..same as a A-B-or a C. How do I delete these words/history of what I typed in there? PLEASE help.

How do I delete all the history when I type words into the "search" box.?
You didn't tell us what program you are talking about. Do you mean the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox? Internet Explorer? The built-in search area in Firefox? In Firefox you can go to the TOOLS menu and select "Clear Private Data".
Reply:Click on tools tab.Then select delete browsing history.

C program for deleting those words starting with s n ending with letter d in a string without using pointers.?

Without using pointers is not really possible.

You can use the string as an index like this;

if (s[i] == ........

but actually s[i] is still a pointer.

Anyway you can avoid using * and %26amp; this way, if hats what you mean?

Then write your own string search functions.

the standard string search and compare functions are returning pointers.

The more I delete the less free space I have, how do I get rid of the files in the media player?

I rarely use the media player unless an e-mail attachment goes directly there, never download any music or videos, never listen to the radio, why are there so many files there and how do I delete them to hopefully free up more space on C?? The more I delete out of Outlook express the less space I have?? I have defrag, disk, cleanup, emptied recycle, am down to 18%, have system restore at lowest level of restore points, added more RAM, what else is there to try, PLZ and TY.

The more I delete the less free space I have, how do I get rid of the files in the media player?
You may have to go to your C:, Documents/windows/temp folders and ctrl and delete all the files there.
Reply:Try searching for *.mpg, *.mpeg, *.avi, *.mp3 files and delete the ones you don't want. Also you mgiht want to try emptying your junk Folders that are built into windows. What version are you running and i can tell you where to find them.
Reply:you didn't say how large yer drive is, but you can look in add/remove and/or windows explorer in program files to see who the hog is. to delete files in media player just right click and choose delete.

Cleaning up c-drive?

ive got spyware and popups constantly and so i want to clean up my c drive...however i dont want to just go through it and delete a few files i want to basically re-format it...however if i format my c drive will it delete my operating system (vista) or will i still have that after?

Cleaning up c-drive?
If you format a volume or partition (C:, for instance), all data it contains is removed, including your documents, your settings, your programs and, yes, your operating system too.

So usually, formatting the 'system' hard disk drive (the one that contains your operating system) will be done using the installation disk for the operating system you're planning to install after you formatted that drive.
Reply:Yes, you can format your C: Drive but make sure there is no important data as ALL DATA WILL BE LOST on that drive whenever you format a particular drive.

But before formatting you might like to give a try to antispywares and other utilities to clean up your system. Cuz formatting is the last n final option, if nothing works but it is not an answer to everything.
Reply:if you re-format you will still have your OS, but everything will be deleted. to re-format don't you need the Vista cd?

you could just get spybot or adaware to get rid of the spyware. or use disk defragmenter to clean up your c drive.
Reply:Yes it will delete everything on your hard drive. Vista and all, but you should have gotten a restore disk when you got your computer to replace your operating system.

I have two hard drives I need to know how to format c drive?

the c drive is my local drive. and d is my spare drive. how can i format my c drive without deleting my operating system and drivers.

I have two hard drives I need to know how to format c drive?
If C is the drive you're using you can't format it without losing everything.
Reply:you will lose everything on the c drive if you format that drive you may want to norton ghost c to d and then you still have a backup
Reply:ok frist have a windows disk 1.put the disk in drive shut down comp restart and make it "boot from disk (aka.windows)" and run full install and it will ask you if you want to format drive say yes. and if not 2. set the drive as a slave have lenix or some other os (windows) and selected format

hope that helps
Reply:Unfortunately there is no way to format a hard drive without losing all of the data on the drive. This is because a format is a physical reseting of each bit of data to zero. If a reformat is necessary it is advisable to acquire all drivers and burn them all to a disk before you reformat.

Question about C drive?

First of all, on my computer, D drive is the hard drive, and all the programs are stored on it. C drive isn't used much and usually has lots of free space.

Now, though, I keep getting a message saying, "low disc space on C drive". I've deleted everything I can find to delete, and still it says it. What could it be?

Knowledgeable answers appreciated.

Question about C drive?
Your computer is probably processing the information that isnt available for you to see. Microsoft usually installs many large files that constantly update your computer to help in keep working properly.

What you think takes up a huge ammount of room might not be anything at all, but just because you cant see it, doesnt mean its there. Check the My Computer panel and right click on the C Drive. Find out how much space it has in there anyway using the properties option.

If there is a lot of space taken up, enough said. But if there isnt, that means that the program you are trying to download may very ve too big for the C drive. For example, there is only 100 mb left. The program you want has 200 mb. So, you cant download the thing properly.

What you might want is another drive. You can buy them at certain computer stores that have them.

Hope thats helpful!
Reply:the message doesn't appear to be a windows message - could be spyware. spyware would not know that your hard drive is the D drive.
Reply:Either its not xp professional(get at a store about 70 to 100$)or you have something that uses alt of mb).If those dont work get it to a comp professional
Reply:try to check the virtual memory settings on your drive C:, bcoz even if the actual disk space is free but if that free space is given to your virtual memory which taking up all the space, it will still say low disk space, lower down your virtual memory.

virtual memory is at:

right click on my computer

click properties

go to advanced

click performance options

click change

highlight your C: drive and lower the minimum and maximum vortual memory
Reply:Hi there,

Your computer thinks that your program drive is your C drive. You specifically state that it's a D drive, however, I believe that MS is seeing is as the C drive. (the one you have everything installed on.)

Get a program like windows washer, or something else that will clean your excess junk off the drive. Also, doing a defrag may help as well.

Alternately the trial program of system mechanic will also take care of these tasks for you.
Reply:check properties of c drive by right clicking it. see how many bytes are free on c drive. check if sum of used bytes and free bytes is equal to the capacity of c drive or not.if not there might be some bad sectors. so try to run scan disk or format once c: and reinstall all programs again if it is possible for you.

My "delete" button suddenly took the normal place of "reply", what gives?

Is anyone else having this problem? Normally "reply" is on the top left...when I signed on this morning "delete" is now in the top left and "reply" is one space in. Why is this? It's very inconvenient b/c i keep accidentally deleting emails! I restarted my computer thinking it could just be a fluke but its still that way.

My "delete" button suddenly took the normal place of "reply", what gives?
Hi,

I had the same problem yesterday, Thursday, only I clicked

Delete record with datagrid?

i use asp.net(1.1)(c#) - i want to delete a record from database with using check box at datagrid(like yahoo).is there any control to add check box in datagrid or is there any way to do that.

if there is'nt please give me a javascript code to delete record with confirm box.

THANKS

Delete record with datagrid?
Of course there is a way to do it!

To add a control to a column in your DataGrid, you have to use a TemplateColumn like in the following DataGrid:

%26lt;asp:datagrid id="dg" runat="server" Width="100%"

AutoGenerateColumns="False" %26gt;

%26lt;Columns%26gt;

%26lt;asp:BoundColum DataField="ID" /%26gt;

%26lt;asp:TemplateColumn%26gt;

%26lt;ItemTemplate%26gt;

%26lt;asp:CheckBox id="chk" runat="server"

AutoPostBack="false" /%26gt;

%26lt;/ItemTemplate%26gt;

%26lt;/asp:TemplateColumn%26gt;

%26lt;/Columns%26gt;

%26lt;/asp:datagrid%26gt;

Let's assume when a user hits a Delete Button, you want to delete all records which are selected. In the Event Handler for the Delete Button use the following code to loop through the Grid Items:

foreach(DataGridItem item in dg.Items)

{

if((item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item) ||

(item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem))

{

CheckBox chkBox;

chkBox = (CheckBox)(item.FindControl

("chkPublished"));

if(chkBox.Checked)

{

//get ID of Item from Grid (first column is the ID)

int ItemID = int.Parse(item.Cells[0].Text);

//now use the Item ID to do some action on the

//Item like deleting it from DB

}

}

}
Reply:One way to do it is create a template column with a checkbox and a hidden label to store the id for each record. And then in your code behind for your delete button have a loop that goes through and gets the ids and concatenates them and creates your delete sql. Here is an article that explains it better than I can.

How to move "My document" to D drive since I don't have much space in C??

I moved 'My Document" to D drive (right click properties and changed target path). But I see my word/excel files on both drives c %26amp; d. Does it mean...it takes space on both drives? I tried to delete files from C:/my document but everything is gone in D drive too. Why is it that?

How to move "My document" to D drive since I don't have much space in C??
To change the default location of "My Documents" to another location in hard disk is right click on "My Documents" icon on the desktop and change the text in the target text box to match the changed location such as "D:\My Documents". A system message follows as the above path does not exist and does the user want to create it, on clicking on the "yes" tab the default location of "My Documents" is changed to the new drive and all the content of the folder is moved (like cut and paste) to the new location as well. Other programs like MS Word, Excel, etc that use to save their files to "My Documents" by default now saves them in the new,modified location. It is better to make this change right after the Windows installation to avoid any sort of conflicts. In your case, however, instead of deleting the documents from the C drive you should have first copied them and pasted onto your D drive so that in no case your documents would have been lost.
Reply:maybe by changing the path means it keeps a copy like shortcut on both drives taking space on both drives. i recommend you open my documents and press CTRL+A to select all and then create a folder named my documents on D:\ and paste all the files in that
Reply:Moving My Documents isn't as easy as moving other folders.

Here is a good place to start. Though it is discussing moving files to a new partition, the steps will work the same for a separate hard drive.

Why wont the file delete in my recycle bin??
I HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM.

I really need help because my friends won't respond to me if I ask them if I stopped sending...

And I have an 'msn.log' and a 'sti.log' in my C:\ drive.

AND IN THE MSN ONE, IT SAYS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER DONE ON MSN IN THIS WEIRD CODE.

It's really scary. I'm just a little kid and I really need some help.

Thanks.
Reply:go into the recycle bin itself and click on the msn.log and click resore restore it to your desktop. then try scanning it with like avg or something like that then fix the virus that way u wont have to delete it.
Reply:most virus' tend to not just allow you to delete them. Try and antivirus program or a spyware program to remove the file.
Reply:Try scanning your entire computer for viruses.

First off, make sure your anti-virus program is updated before scanning it.

You might wanna do a spyware scan too.
Reply:boot into safe mode and delete it from there. also run an anti-virus to be sure that the virus is gone.
Reply:This maybe a system file on your computor, if so it will not allow you to delete it.....

Use Windows XP's System Restore.

To access, go to:

Start %26gt; All Programs %26gt; Accessories %26gt; System Tools %26gt; System Restore.

Then choose a restore point.

Also, the Recycle Bin is an option.
Reply:Look in Ur Recycle bin...{:-{}.
Reply:The least "hassle free" and easiest way to do it, if you remember the names of the sites, is to use your yahoo search engine, type the name and look in there to find it and save it again

Lost p.c information( please help )?

My Daughter did 'something' to the computer,Now i have had to go to p.c recovery. and everything on my P.C had been deleted and i tried to system restore. But it will not go back to yesterday Only today. However do i get it back to where it was or get my files back ? all pictures and info is gone,its back to factor settings..

Lost p.c information( please help )?
Well, if you're running XP and you did an entire System Recovery (using the disks that came with the computer or in a different partition on your hard drive), you've wiped out your computer so it's just like the day you bought it. If you already tried System Restore and the most recent 'save' is showing today, there isn't any previous day to go to, so your files probably are lost. I know there's a way that people can get ANYTHING off a hard drive, even when wiped clean, but that's for the police techies, not us mortals.

Creating Files In C++?

Hello, I am wondering in most they have their own file types (such as .sav for a game save and .esm for a Elder Scrolls file) Just wondering how do they create, acess and delete them using C++? Can anyone give me an explaination, point me towards a tutorial or tell me a book i could get with this in it.

- Cheers, Daniel

Creating Files In C++?
To read or write text files in C++, you usually use stream objects of the standard classes "ifstream" and "ofstream." Those classes also have open and close functions and the appropriate overloaded stream operators. There is nothing really special about the different types of file name extensions, although it helps to choose a unique one that means something in the context (like an abbreviation). To read or write binary data in C++ (for example, from data structures), there are other functions you can use called "read" and "write." They take character buffers as their arguments, but you can cast any buffer to a buffer of characters so that doesn't matter. This appears to be a good place for you to start learning about it: http://www.angelfire.com/country/aldev0/...

This is another tutorial-like reference related to the subject:

http://www.developer.com/net/cplus/artic...

Another handy reference (but not a tutorial) is http://www.cppreference.com/

There's nothing particularly special about writing to files per se. The main difference between writing to files and to the console is that you have to decide on a good format for your files if you intend to read them later on. Good luck!
Reply:These are input output operations that are available in every language.

I would rather advise you to move with C# than C++ if your developing for the windows environment.
Reply:If you've ever tried opening a data file (such as a saved game file) in notepad you've probably noticed that it just looks like a bunch of gibberish. That's because when you open a file in Notepad, it has certain assumptions that it makes about the file that aren't true.

Almost all text files are encoded with 7-bit data, since 7 bits can sufficiently hold all the letters, numbers, punctuation and control characters you need.

Data files are almost always encoded in 8-bit data. So when notepad starts reading it, it looks like gibberish.

Files in C++ are handled almost exactly like input/output from the keyboard and to the screen. Except instead of using the devices, it uses file streams.

To open a file steam, you se the fstream.open() function. The parameters that you pass that function determine whether you will be reading to it, writing to it, or both.

From there you read in data just like you would read in data from the keyboard. Except the data might be more optimized than text.

You coud fit 8 different flags into a single byte of data. A flag is just a specific bit that signifies something. For example, if the first bit of the byte is a '1' it might mean that you've beaten a certain area of the game.

How Do I Clean Out My C Drive?????

I received a warning message from my computer that said I need to clean out my computer C drive but I don't know how. I was told that I only have 5% space left, and to create more space cleaning out the C drive is a definate must. I need to know: (1.) how to ACCESS the C drive (2.) how to CLEAN OUT the C drive, and (3.) how to clean out the C drive WITHOUT deleting any files from my Word Pad documents or losing my anti-spyware program. Please help!!!!!

How Do I Clean Out My C Drive?????
Fast Procedure:

copy your necessary documents on other drive if available. Then format the C Drive fully and install a fresh copy of your OS. Then copy back the documents.

Slow process:

Run "Disk Clean Up " program. U will get it in "Accessories " section. Then Run "Disk De fragment" program.
Reply:Copy ther douments u want to keep to an extrenal hard drive and try formatting C drive
Reply:First download and install CCcleaner.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

this will clear all those hidden temp and cache files.

delete any old files and software you no longer use.

then Derfrag your C drive.

if this does not clear enough space for you ,you need to add a second drive (internal or external) and copy over all your data files (eg Music and word pad)

finally deleting the original copys from your C drive...

Run CCcleaner a second time and your done..

Reformatting the Drive and reinstalling the OS will achieve the Same goal but you will still need a Bigger second drive for all your data.

New large capacity drives are very cheap at the moment so its a easy upgrade for your wallet.......
Reply:Take the combined advice of answers 7, 8, 9 and 10
Reply:When you use a computer for a long time, you are bound to save up quite a collection of data that you may have downloaded from the Internet or created yourself.

You might have a lot of music, videos, documents, emails, pictures, or whatever.

It would be great if you had a hierarchy of directories where you store specific types of files. For example, it would be brilliant if you had a directory called Archives. And in that directory you had subdirectories like HTML_Files, JPG_FIles, TXT_Files, GIF_Files, and so on. In each of those directories you would only store files according to their Windows file-extensions (like .jpg, .txt, .gif, or whatever).

But now you are faced with the onerous task of hunting down all your personal files and saving them to removable media (such as CD, DVD, USB flash drive, or external USB hard disk drive -- or potentially, a new internal hard disk drive).

Starting Cleaning With CCleaner

=======================

To start you on your way, though, I'd like to recommend the CrapCleaner (ccleaner.com). Install that little gem and let it clean out your temporary Internet files and all the other useless temporary files that may exist on your computer.

Accessing The C: Drive

=======================

Just open the Windows Explorer and look for C: on the left-hand side. It's probably the only hard disk drive in your computer.

Everything that is stored on your computer is probably stored on the C: (especially if the computer is store-bought rather than home-built).

Just Out Of Curiosity

=======================

What version of Windows are you using?
Reply:or just try right clicking drive C then properties then clean disk in one of the tabs also defragment that drive to refresh that space may need to burn stuff to disks and delete them off your drive
Reply:if u know just as little as this then limit your action by empting the trush bin, delete all pictures and videos and music and uninstal games.
Reply:C: drive is where u have installed Ur windows...............u can access it by double clicking C: drive icon on my computer......

(1) if u want to just increase ur space......then u may delete unwanted programs from.........add or remove programs.........

go to control panel...........Add or remove programs......and remove unwanted prog......this'll increase space.........

(2) if u try to format ur drive it'll erase all data........so prepare a backup of all data like drivers(use drivers guide software) etc.........and then.........reinstall windows.......should have windows CD handy.......

option (1) is preffered......gud bye........
Reply:1. Drive C can be accessed by double clicking on "My Computer" icon on desktop.

2. To clean out drive C, right click on C and click on properties and then press Disk cleanup, select all the check boxes and the OK.

3. by doing above you will not lose any of your important files or anti virus software.

Also try moving your other files which may be available in drive C to other portable media, like movies, songs etc.

if above does not help, you can also save some space by switching off System restore, but i would not recommend it. If you have games which you might have installed, just un-install them.
Reply:formate
Reply:Open My Computer right click on C Drive and select Properties and u will find a button called DISK Clean up. Till will first tell u the amount of Temp files which would be cleaned.

You can check all the boxes and click clean, there wont be any documents of your deleted, the disk clean up would delete temp system and application files.

Its always advisable to keep atleast 200 MB of free space on your C Drive.

Other ways of getting some space is to run a program like CC Cleaner. Disk Clean up would clean only Windows and Office Temp files where as CC Cleaner would clean all the application temp files.

If you need further clarification please get back to me.

For more blogs on technology check my blog http://cybergurus.wordpress.com
Reply:Open MyComputer, and the available drives should be shown there. Click on the icon that says Drive C. If you've never accessed the C drive, the files are probably hidden. Choose "Show the Contents of this Drive" on the top left corner (under System Tasks).

1) Look into Documents and Settings, choose the folder that has your username. If you don't know your user name, click on the start button and you'll see your username at the top of the pop-up menu.

2) Inside the folder that has your username clean Recent Documents (just delete everything).

3) Clean MyDocuments. Normally, if you don't specify a given folder, most of your user files are saved here. Delete everything you don't need, or svae them on CD/DVDs if you think you might need them later

4) Go back to your C drive root and look into the program files. Check each folder to make sure you know what it is. If you don't need that software, uninstall it. And by uninstall I mean use Control Panel -%26gt; Add Remove Programs. DO NOT DELETE these files.

It is preferable that you ask some assistance from someone who knows its way better around a computer. You can also easily mess things up.

In the future, DO NOT save everything o the C drive (ie inside the My Documents folder). Create an additional drive for personal files, and save them there.

If you don't think you need a file on an everyday basis, make a backup of it on a CD/DVD, don't store it on the computer. This is especially true, if the files are large in size.

From the way you phrased the question, I'm assuming you're not quite familiar with doing this, so ask someone (who is) to assist you, lest you mess things up.
Reply:http://www.ccleaner.com/
Reply:does your computer have a partition...if so try moving your files to that partition...or transfer it to a flashdrive or copy the files to a cd/dvd....then use cc cleaner it is freeware...

You may possibly have a corrupt cache file -- it makes all KINDS of things go wonky. Try this: clear your history, temporary files %26amp; cookies, reboot and retry.

C/OOP: what is the exact code for deleting a record from file.?

Hi! Is there anyone good at C-language and OOP.

I have problem with deletion of record associated with filing. How a record can be deleted save in .txt file.

Please if anyone can help by writing the exact coding, I shall be obliged.

e.g in my filing program, I have stored name, address and number using structure.

f%26gt;%26gt;sub[i].name%26gt;%26gt;sub[i].address%26gt;%26gt;sub[i]...

Now how to delete this record from .txt file.

C/OOP: what is the exact code for deleting a record from file.?
I don't think you can actually 'delete' the record from the text file. What you will probably have to do is read through the file, line by line, and copy what you want to keep to a new text file, and leave out the stuff you want to "delete." Then, you delete the old file, and rename the new one. At least that is how I would do it. Perhaps someone else will post the exact code for you??? Good luck.

i have deleted sound from the p.c does anyone know how to get sound back on windows media player and p.c it has nothing to do with controlls as ive deleted it thank you

HELP i have deleted all sound from p.c?
you will have to find out what sound card it is and download the program for it.
Reply:ha ha you fool
Reply:just reset your computer to yesterday or whenever you deleted the sound everything you did will be restored to how it was on that day.

programms/accessories/system tools/system restore

then just follow the instructions and enter the date you would like to restore to.
Reply:if you have a sound card installed then insert your driver disk and reinstall, if it is on board sound then you should find the drivers on the motherboard driver disk. if you have no driver disk then goto driverguide.com and take a looksie there. good luck
Reply:Install sound driver, you will get it back.
Reply:Do your speakers have a separate sound volume control? If so make sure it is turned up!!
Reply:maybe you can restore it.

you should have some restore points automatically set up by your computer. pick a restore point that is the closest date to now, that was working, and see if you can bring back the deleted files, and your sound.

make sure you didn't just accidently hit the mute button first.

anyway, if the restore doesn't work you an always un-restore.

good luck.
Reply:sounds like you accidentally uninstalled the sound card. reboot the computer, and it should at least attempt to reinstall it for you..
Reply:ok ok chill, first i want you to do as i say with confidence.

"my computer" %26gt; "control panel" %26gt; "system"%26gt; "Hardware"%26gt;"Device manager"

Now you are in the device manager.. there should be a list of thing such as .. monitor, mouse etc. There will be a section with hardware that is not working. Go down untill you see the Sound card section. Look if the sound card has an "X" or "?" on it.. this indicates there is a problem with it.

Now you can do (A) or (B)

A) IF there is an "X" or "?" next to the sound card. DOUBLE CLICK. this will then open up a screen with details about the card. There will be several TABS at the top of this box. I want you to click.. "DRIVER" and then look for a button saying.. "roll back driver". This is usefull because it will roll back the driver to a previous date.

B) IF the above doesnt apply and the sound card is working. I want you to first go into the start menu, then programs, then go up to applications. Now i want you to look for a feature called "System RESTORE". This is a program that resets all the computer settings WITHOUT deleting any saved files, emails, videos etc. So it is completely safe to use.

I want you to restore your pc to a date which is suitable, aprox 1 week.

If the above doesnt work.. please dont worry, email me and i have some other ways in which to deal with this problem.

Hope i've helped you :)
Reply:If you are using widows XP SP2 then go to msconfig and restore system.

Can your yahoo account get automatically suspended or deleted b/c ppl give you 2 many thumbs down?

Does anyone know, I read that on as an answer on a question. That seems weird to me if its true, ppl get thumbs down when they dont deserve it! But is that a fact?

Can your yahoo account get automatically suspended or deleted b/c ppl give you 2 many thumbs down?
no u cant even get ur account deleted so no you will just have lots of thumbs down. hopefully this dont happen to you i will give you good answers and thumbs up all the time I will choose ur questions as best answers too. U will be on my fans list too. Choose my answer as best answer and respond to it ok? From Coryn or boodabear call me that.

How dp u delete a yahoo answers account??

My friend needs to delete hers b/c her parents hates her having it

How dp u delete a yahoo answers account??
The account can't be deleted on here.
Reply:Well, despite what all the high-ranking "geniuses" said about not being able to delete your account, it looks as though the asker successfully did so, hence the "Oops" message as her profile. Makes you sad, doesn't it? Seems like she had a sexy little Avatar. Report It

Reply:You don't. Only Yahoo can delete an account. All you can do is change settings to private and stop answering questions. There are accounts where the person has not been here in a few months. They (Yahoo) might delet it if it was reported for abuse, like gaming for points or something but Why would you want to report yourself??? I supose if you really really want to get your "content" deleted that would be a way to go about it. I would NOT recomend doing the above I only say it is the only way I can think of to get the content removed.
Reply:Yahoo wont let her delete it. She can delete open questions or answers, but not the resolved ones. Yahoo holds all our info for some reason.

To delete a question, just go back to the question and underneath it, theres a pencil icon, just click on that and select delete. To delete an answer, go to the question that was asked and select delete under the answer.
Reply:She can't, but tell her to take off her email address and instant messenger so that people can't find her.

It says one of my questions was deleted b/c of point-gaming?

wut the heck,, what does that mea? I was just asking where I could find earrings!

It says one of my questions was deleted b/c of point-gaming?
Anywhere in your question, did you offer points? Or offer "free points"? If you did, that is considered point-gaming. You may not have realized that it's a violation because you've seen it before. But some violations slip by and don't get reported. Just ask your question, preferably putting your question in the very top where the question goes, instead of using that as a subject line. You risk a "not a question" violation .

Point-gaming clearly is explained here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...
Reply:If you prefaced the question with anything like "TEN POINTS TO THE FIRST CORRECT ANSWERER", you fell into a trap of your own making. It may have been an innocent ploy to get more people to answer you, but in playing the point angle so hard, I think you made your question a target of reporters, and subsequently, the admins of answers.

Peace
Reply:Point gaming is a question whose only purpose is to gain points for someone.

Fifth person who answers gets 10 points.

Answer my question and I will give you 20 points.

Get best answer here and I will give you 10 points on another question.

If your question gets deleted b/c no one answered, do you get your points back?

Yes you do get your points back IF the question went into voting and someone voted for no best answer. Otherwise it remains in voting forever.

If however YOU deleted the question, you don't get your points back.

If your question gets deleted b/c no one answered, do you get your points back?
You are supposed to, if the question went all the way through an no answer was given
Reply:No, you don't. And what's worse is it turns gray and you can't access it and it just sits on your questions list forever and you can't get rid of it.

Edit: If noone answers your question you cannot call it to a vote.
Reply:No once they are gone they're gone.

I want to delete my defauly pic on myspace but its not under my pics!!!!!?

Ok, I WANT TO DELETE MY DEFAULT PICTURE ON MYSPACE! THE THING IS I CAN'T DELETE IT B/C IT'S NOT IN MY "ADD/EDIT PHOTOS" PAGE!!!!NOW WHAT DO I DO?? BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS!!

I want to delete my defauly pic on myspace but its not under my pics!!!!!?
Change your picture and maybe it just wont be there anymore.idk. Good luck
Reply:It's not on your Add/Edit Photos page because it's inside one of your albums. You need to go into your album %26amp; delete the image, or select another as your default by clicking the new image in your album that you want.

If you used a code to stream a phony default picture onto your profile, then simply remove that code.

Call to int 0*21, o*440d 0*60, failed error of . this error is coming in my pc while formatting c drive.?

how to resolve this. can i use fdisk command for formatting. if yes how . i have tried but in vain .i removed all primary, extended dos , non dos drive . but is not deleting the c drive. can sombody help me. i need it urgent.

Call to int 0*21, o*440d 0*60, failed error of . this error is coming in my pc while formatting c drive.?
I'd run the diags from the HD manufacturer to make sure that the HD is okay. IT sounds like it might be a hardware failure.

It also could be a virus. I haven't seen a boot sector virus in years, but that might explain the int21 error. Stick that HD in a "clean" (no viruses) computer and make sure.

Come to think of it, I'd put that HD in another computer and try to fdisk and format from that computer. IF you can fdisk and format, then you might have a bad motherboard on your computer. If you get the same errors, and there is no virus, then I'm thinking it's a dead HD (which you'd see with the HD diags).

You don't format with FDisk. You format with Format.exe, or via the Windows Explorer interface (right-click, format) You run FDisk to make a partition, then your run Format to format it.
Reply:ok, there may be physical damage to the drive which is preventing it from formating.

If you are having this many problems formating do you really think you can trust your information on it? and that is won't just die in a few weeks and loose everything?

If you really want to format it there are some low level programs to do a security format, which write 1010101010101 to the complete disk this will remove some problems.

Here is a website which lists most major manufacturers disk utilities:

http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid...

find the write program for your drive and run it prior to loading an os on it and going futher. If you spend your time loading data onto a dying drive you will be very dissapointed. This time of year I think you can pick up a couple HUNDRED Gig for under 100$ so I recommend picking up a new drive and not risking a bad hard drive.

How do I delete second copy of Windows on my pc?

I need to delete one, b/c I am low on memory. Obviouisly, I need to keep the particular copy that I use. When my pc boots up I choose the second Windows XP. This is the one I want to keep, I want to delete the first copy. How do I do this without accidentally deleting the second copy??? Thanks!!!

How do I delete second copy of Windows on my pc?
I have exactly the same problem. In my case, it happened because I had to reinstall Windows becuase of a major disc problem. When it had completed, there were now two versions - and one is eating up masses of disc space.
Reply:dont see how you got two copys in computer.i thought when you put in a new version it deleted or over wrote the old version.you should beable to delete the first version if it is on add and remove in control panel.go look and see if its there then remove.

How do I delete second copy of Windows on my pc?
What makes you think you have a second copy? The prompt you get? This means nothing. It could be the same copy.

from a command prompt, type:

ECHO %WINDIR%

That is your Windows directory. DO NOT DELETE IT. Boot to the other install and do the same thing. If both say C:\WINDOWS then you DO NOT have two copies of windows, you just have a boot.ini file that lists Windows twice.

If you DO have two copies of Windows, then boot into the one you want and delete the folder of the other, as determined by that ECHO %WINDIR% command before.

Then type NOTEPAD C:\BOOT.INI

Look at the lines there - it should look something like this:

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partiti...

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI... Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI... Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Note the name following ..(1)\ - WINDOWS is what you will probably see. If there's another entry, then post it here and no one will see it because most people stop looking at these questions after they answer them. So as an alterntive, use a site like www.experts-exchange.com or www.tek-tips.com to ask this question and people will actually have the opportunity to interact with you and help solve the problem.
Reply:WOW, how did you manage to do this?

You should never keep a double boot of the same OS

I have a double boot system using Mandriva Linux and Windows XP. Each on a different drive!

Now, the problem is that when you delete one, the other goes, too.

Because you've loaded both on the same drive.

But, anyway, even if you'd loaded them on different drives, the same thing would happen.

Please back up all the data that you want to save on a removable media like a CD or DVD and then format the disc and reinstall XP only on C drive and make sure that this time you don't install it again.

Sorry, but there's nothing else you can do about it.

All the best.
Reply:At the command prompt, type:

bootcfg /delete /ID#

Where # specifies the boot entry ID that you want to be deleted from the operating systems section of the BOOT.INI file (e.g. 2 for the second Operating system that is listed.

(check out my source and read through it)
Reply:ok, pop in your cd of windows and then restart your computer. once you have done this, boot off of the cd, not on the hard drive. enter the setup windows part and follow the instructions. once you have done this, it will ask where you want to install windows and three partitions will be listed. using the directions posted on the screen somewhere, delete the partition you need to (save the one that has the same amount of total memory as the one you use normally) and then exit the setup. that should completely clear it, BUT you will not be able to use this new space untill you re install windows the same way i just told you. for more help, call microsoft.
Reply:do a complete formatt and reload

im trying to delete a file (c:/windows/system32/khfcbba.dll) because my security thing said that it had a trojen in it. when i try to delete or re name it, it says i cant because its being used by another person/program.

WHAT DO I DO??

Please help! im trying to delete a file...?
stop using limewire
Reply:restart your computer ... should delete then ... if not ... restart again in safe mode .... safe mode runs minimal programs just needed to run operating system
Reply:You could try to delete it in Safe Mode. Should work.
Reply:some files/programs that are infected are impossible to delete without an antivirus program to do it. get mcafee, norton or another antivirus program. the program should attempt to clean it, if it can't then it should quarantine it. once it's quarantined you should be able to safely delete it.

good luck.
Reply:Firstly I would recommend you to use a better anti virus. AVG Free is a good free anti virus, however if you're willing to spend, get Kaspersky, it's currently the best anti viral detection software in the market. Then get Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy, these 2 anti spyware/malware detectors will detect almost anything that the anti virus can't detect. Once you got these 3 softwares, you're computer will be impenetrable.

Secondly, if it doesn't remove, try going into safe mode. Restart your pc, and keep pressing F8, select safe mode, and go to the folder there and delete.

Another way is by downloading a software called Unlocker, it allows you to end any process and the file is using so you can delete it. Just download, install and right click the file you want to unlock and click unlocker.

Reply:boot in safe mode and delete it, or use a program like GiPo@MoveOnBoot to delete it ... search for MoveOnBoot .
Reply:download kaspersky the trial, it is the best free antivirus
Reply:it cant be activated if its a trojen... if you're anti virus cant get it off you're computer then just ignore it.. if you dont open it it will never take any effect on you're computer : )
Reply:Its a windows file and your running windows so its in use. you need to have your virus progam fix or quarintine it
Reply:Run a virus scan instead. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Cleaning up my c drive to my external hardrive?
Most likely in the My Music folder in My Documents. When you find them, drag them to the Recycle Bin but don't empty it. Make sure you can open up the music files fromthe external hard drive before you delete them off of the hard disk. If you can play them, delete them out of the recycle bin. You should be good.

Good luck!

We call them trolls. I'm sure you know this. They answer questions meanly just for the sake of meanness, and they report questions for no reason.

They also go by the name "cookie-hijacking clowns."

Dell computer

I deleted drive c now can't get the install cd to start up.?
in ur BIOS settings (hope u kno that), choose first boot drive as ATAPI CD ROM DRIVE.

It will work, provided the o/s installation cd a bootable one ; )
Reply:Try going to the link below it will tell you how to reinstall. Hope it helps.
Reply:Step away from the computer. You have no business being anywhere near one. If you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing then you have no business deleting the ENTIRE EFFING C DRIVE!! besides, just telling us that its a dell and you deleted the whole thing isn't going to tell us ANYTHING that we can use to help you. Take it to a professional, or better yet, use it as a paperweight, I'm sure you can figure that out.

-Duo

oh, and btw, don't call dell, they'll want you to buy a service plan for $300 just to walk you through it over the phone. *shakes his head* almost as greedy as the oil companies.
Reply:yeah duh, you deleted the heart and soul of your computer..your hard drive... have fun with that,,,now give me the damn 10 points
Reply:Whoa...

Call Dell.

And for future reference: NEVER DELETE A DRIVE if you don't know what you're doing.
Reply:To be perfectly honest you had to do something really out there to manage to do this operation to begin with. You cant just delete the c drive likes its a normal file. I mean typically if you did that, it would mean you removed more then likely your whole system files and OS, and nothing would be on the drive then. Now if you have it installed on another drive, well that's another story. But in order to delete an entire drive you have to set up certain limitations in your settings. Whoever set up your settings on your computer let it wide open like a baby a candle and gasoline. Yeah I agree you probably should not use a computer again till you get some basic user knowledge or at least watch what your doing before you do it.

And your right with no c drive you will not be able to reload your CD. You have to reformat, and by the way EVERYTHING is lost on that computer.. have a great day.

How do i manage the different drivers on my notebook so that i can make C:/ drive bigger and E:/ drive smaller

Hey, for some reason my hard drive space, instead of all being put in the c: drive, it has been split up between two different partitions, so my c drive holds 70 gigs and my e drive holds 70 gigs instead of just my c drive holding 140. How can i format my drives so that e is deleted and c has all the space? oh and by the way, nether of these drives are part of an external hard drive... they are all part of the hard drive that came built in with my notebook. thank you in advance for your help.

How do i manage the different drivers on my notebook so that i can make C:/ drive bigger and E:/ drive smaller
You want to go to Control Panel %26gt; Administrative Tools %26gt; Computer Management %26gt; Disk Management

This will allow you to edit the partition settings on a drive. However, this won't work if the drive is the one running Windows. In this case, you need third party software that runs at boot, like PowerQuest Partition Magic.

In your situation, with no XP disc, live with it! There are some programs out there that will partition your hard drive without destroying your information. Partition Magic is one that comes to mind. But if you are going to spend that much, you might as well go get an XP disc!

FDISK rules!
Reply:The best way to fix this problem is to take it to a good computer shop............. tell them what you want to do. They have to save your data and repartition your drive... they have the software tools to do this........... if you tried to do it.. you could mess up big time.

"O" Wise One............. has spoken
Reply:I don't think that you can combine the c drive without losing your data. There are programs like Norton Ghost that will backup the image of your hard drive, and it can restore it to a hard drive that isn't the same size.

To combine the E and F drives, If you have windows xp (perhaps 2000 also), you can go to the disk management and span two drives. I've done this before, but I don't think it will let you do that with the boot drive.
Reply:you can buy partition magic 8.0 and combine c, e, and f drive

when you do stuff like eraseing hard drives, BACK UP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT FILES
Reply:If you don't have the WIndows XP disk, or are reluctant to start from SCRATCH, then you will have to BUY a disk utility to update this.

But FIRST, check the disk format type... Open My Computer, then RIGHT CLICK on the C drive and pick PROPERTIES.

It might say FILE SYSTEM: NTFS

or it might say FILE SYSTEM: FAT32

So when you are looking at the specs of the program that you buy, Make sure that it will work with your drive format type.

Look for Partition Magic
Reply:get a copy of partition magic, and merge partion, merge E and F to C:

I want to format my c:\ drive which presently contains XP.i restart my pc and insert my xp cd.?
Just delete the partition and create the partition again...it'll be the easiest. Then after you select to install XP on that partition you will be able to format it. Doing a quick format using the NTFS file system should be sufficient.
Reply:If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr
Reply:With Windows XP, you need to figure out which file system you have on your hard drive - either NTFS or FAT32. Go to my computer, right click on your C drive and select properties. The type of file system will show there.

To use the Windows XP Recovery Console to reformat a drive, follow these steps:

Start the computer by using the Windows XP CD-ROM

Once the computer has booted from the CD you'll see a "Welcome to Windows Setup" screen appear and after all the drivers have loaded (shown along the bottom), press F10 or wait and choose to use the recovery console (choose item #2).

In the "Recovery Console" specify the appropriate Windows installation. It will be listed. It's probably #1. Then log on by using your Windows XP Administrator password. You are probably the administrator and the password if you have never assigned is probably blank, so just hit the Enter key.

Next, type: map and hit the ENTER key.

Note the drive that you want to reformat. The drive letters may be different in the Recovery Console from what they are in Windows XP, but if you want to reformat the C: drive then its likely the largest.

Next, type: format C: /fs:ntfs

Next, type: y

Then press ENTER to continue. When the formatting process is finished, type exit and then press the ENTER key to restart the computer.

Next you need to reinstall Windows XP. Reboot your computer with the Windows XP setup CD in the CDROM and let it boot into the Windows Setup screen. Let it load all the drivers. Then choose option 1 and start the clean installation. Answer all questions it asks and choose the file system you previously had when it asks.When it is done, reboot the computer.

This will wipe everything form your drive, no traces of the previous install will remain.
Reply:If you have an A: drive, floppy you can create a boot disk, I think it's format a: /S. then boot from the floppy and format your C: drive, make sure that's what you want to do. then reboot from the cd.
Reply:"INSTALLING TWO OPERATING SYSTEMS ON SAME DRIE CAN CREATE PROBLEM"

This msg always appears and theres nothing to worry

Just proceed or go to the next screen and there you will be asked whether the drive C to be formatted.

Just go for FORMAT

And then install Windows XP.

I'm good at this

I have 2 operating systems on my PC, how do I change the config to boot from the OS on the C:?

Some time ago, I turned on my computer, and something came up saying couldn't start windows, missing file. So I used the recovery disc on my D drive, and then copied that file to my C. Problem now is when it starts, I have to choose which OS to start. So how can I get it to automatticaly start C, and then delete the OS on the D?

I have 2 operating systems on my PC, how do I change the config to boot from the OS on the C:?
Easy task...just go to run, type msconfig, then ok. Under System Configuration Utility, under the tab BOOT.INI, there is a small window under which commands that execute at system boot are written. At the last line of these commands is your operating system command (something like multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WIND... Windows XP Professional".....). You must have two of commands like this because you have two operating systems installed. So click on the operating system you want to load at startup and choose SET AS DEFAULT key given below.
Reply:Right click on My Computer, select Properties, click on Advanced tab, select Settings uner Startup and Recovery, click on the arrow and select the OS you want to boot automatically.

Can I format and reinstall winxp on my c: drive without deleting all the info from my d: drive?

My c: drive just has windows installed on it, and d: has all my data. My computer has been acting screwy and slow lately, and I want to know if I can reinstall on c: without harming d: ?

Can I format and reinstall winxp on my c: drive without deleting all the info from my d: drive?
yep, but you gotta remove d from your hard-drive and put it back after you've formatted C. But i'd suggest you to take it to a professional so that nothing sudden would happen.
Reply:Info on your D drive is mainly your boot data. Reinstalling your pc takes care of all the data in the D drive.
Reply:hi, when i reformatted my computer the other day, it gave me the option to delete either drive. so id say yes, just make sure you delete the right one :)

I found the virus file on my computer but my computer is not letting me delete it. Is there any i can do?

I got a adware virus on my computer. And found it with norton...but when i go in my c file to delete an error message saying cant delete make sure memorys not full and license something???? Is there anyway i can delete it...?

I found the virus file on my computer but my computer is not letting me delete it. Is there any i can do?
Try the same step over Safe Mode.
Reply:replace your anti virus to avg its free.
Reply:Turn your computer completely off. When it starts (before the windows logo shows up) begin to tap the F8 key on your keyboard. This will give you a boot menu and allow you to boot into safe mode.

Before you enter into safe mode though, you might want to download and install Unlocker. It can remove all locking processes from memory and force the deletion of the file from your system. http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
Reply:try scanning in dos mode ...
Reply:Go to use the tools on thes pages for removal. What ever you do .. do not reboot as the virse may spread to another file/s this is a common mistake a lot of people do..

Re-boot does not fix the issue... the virus can and will rename itself under different files

My is trade IT work and has been for 30 years
Reply:Safe Mode with the Dos Command Prompt is the answer, because it doesn't load the registry. It's the annoying registry that makes Windows so easy to corrupt and so hard to keep working correctly, and it's also the registry that lets spyware start up automatically right along with useful programs. Once the program is running, you can't delete it until you kill it, and even if you manage to kill it using Microsoft's lame tools, it will take you so long to find it and delete it that it will usually have found a way to restart itself through another stub that's better hidden.

I lucked out by inheriting a computer from my last computer science research project, so it came complete with MKS as an application running on top of Windows, so I have access to almost all the powerful UNIX utilities that are far superior to anything the clowns at Microsoft have the "skill" to conceive or implement. The command ps -ef|more lets me see all the processes and their PID's, and it's a lot easier to type kill -9 1234 and rm /spyware_dir/spyware.exe and use the up arrow to (edit and) repeat the commands quickly if I wasn't fast enough the first time than it is to use Task Manager to kill the process and use Windows Explorer to delete the program, especially when spyware usually slows down your system so much that all these "spiffy" GUI's slow down to a crawl, while DOS (and MKS) doesn't slow down nearly as much. Sometimes user "friendliness" just gets in the way!

Eventually, the average person will come to resent Microsoft as much as we geeks do, and Linux will become so popular that all the software companies that kiss Microsoft's bippy will have to get off their bippies and create a version of sufficient quality to be worthy of, and to run on, the Linux OS.
Reply:Try http://www.antivirusprotector.info

I am using that antivirus program.It works very well.

Just do a free scan.There are over 20,000,000 downloads by people in over 100 countries!
Reply:Firstly update and run your anti-virus product. You can also run a free online scan as well as some malware can actually corrupt or disable your resident security products. Here are a few online scans you can run:

Trend - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/...

Panda - http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ac...

Norton - http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/defau...

Second download, update and run scans using the following products:

SuperAntispyware

http://superantispyware.com/

Spybot S%26amp;D (free version requires manual updating)

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

AVG AntiSpyware

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tp...

Adaware from Lavasoft (free version requires automatic updating)

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-a...

(These programs can be run in Safe Mode after downloading and updating)

Third, after cleaning your system, disable System Restore, reboot and re-enable System Restore when you log back on. This will clear the malware that may still be lurking in System Restore, which could be reinstalled should you need to rollback at some point. Additionally, a reboot may be required to complete the malware removal process.

Lastly, you may also want to install the following tool. It is free and requires you to check for and enable updates manually once a week or so. It uses no system resources.

SpywareBlaster (inoculates, not a spyware removal tool)

==============================...

If you cannot get it removed after the above, you may want to join a tech group that specializes in providing manual instructions on malware eradication.

Will something bad happen if i put disk cleanup on drive c??

i want to make more space

what will happen if i put disk cleanup on drive c

will it delete everything??

will it delete anything

will it delete somethins or what?

Will something bad happen if i put disk cleanup on drive c??
Pretty much all it does is delete temp internet files, clears the recycle bin. It's perfectly safe and should be done rather often.
Reply:It cleans up all unnecessary files taking up space on your hardrive. It targets the non-essential files that accumulate over time. Basic things like temporary internet files and items int he recycling bin will be removed. In the end you have complete control over what you want gone before running the cleanup. On another note, try running your disk defragmenter as well! it ll help speed up your system too!
Reply:It will clean out web sites that you have viewed and will delete files in the recycling bin will not delete any saved files I run it 2-3 times a week and also do a disk derangement doesn't loose any thing important

Will writing a new bootsector delete data?

So im at the point which my computer starts at a black screen, and Im trying to repair the 2nd parition. It says

"Write a new bootsector to the Parition C"

Will this delete the pictures, and other stuff etc?

I tried chkdsk/ R

but it wont recognize that command!

Will writing a new bootsector delete data?
technically writing a new bootloader won't delete information off of a partition except for the old bootloader, which is probably corrupt anyway if you're at that screen while repairing a partition. in reality, your pcitures and other stuff may be gone anyway if your FAT (file allocation table) is gone anyway. however, writing a new bootloader (damaging the pictures/other stuff or not damaging it) is worth it anyway because without it, your stuff is absolutely gone vs. having a chance of still existing. If you're scared, download a rescue cd off of the internet and see what it can do for you.

Delting Fiels in C++?

I am using a compiler called dev C++ and i would like to able able to build a program in c++ that will delete all files with the .mp3 file extention.

How could i do this. I searched online and tried many scripts but they all fail to compile and show errors.

The only program i have managed to run was hello world :(

Delting Fiels in C++?
In C/C++, It's done differently in Unix and Windows.

On Windows, FindFirstFile/FindNext is your friend:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library...

On Unix, you use opendir()/readdir()

http://opengroup.org/onlinepubs/00790877...

Unless you are required to use C/C++, it's much easier to use shell command:

Windows:

del *.mp3

Unix:

rm *.mp3
Reply:Use this command:

system("del \"*.mp3\"");

How can i delete music from my ipod?
Just plug the ipod into your computer and click on the icon on the side that says the name of your ipod (ex. Joe's Ipod) and remove the song from your music section. If you ever want it back just go to your library and find it.
Reply:When you plug in your iPod and the status screen comes on, you can click the music tab and choose what music you want on it.
Reply:Download software called Floola (www.floola.com) and you can delete music, edit the track names and artists etc. Just don't run it at the same time as iTunes. PS. Its free

Two win xp os in one pc. how can i delete one?
ok this is a easy fix

go to start - my computer - right click properties - advanced tab

under start up and recovery click the settings button - edit . make the box full screen u will see two entries like this

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI... Windows XP Professiona

delete the one that says partition(2)

hit file . save , reboot your pc

problem fixed
Reply:Start %26gt; Run and type

msconfig

and hit enter. Click on the BOOT.INI tab and click the "Check All Boot Paths" button. If you have deleted one of the copies of Windows, it will remove the obsolete entry.
Reply:hi,

do this thing it will work out format drive d which has duplicate OS and then go to run and type C:/boot.ini

there the first line shown will be OS of C drive leave that line as it is it will be like this

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI... Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

delete those lines that are after that then you will have no more issue's in booting the server
Reply:yah you did not delete the d drive in correct procedure. on thing you have to do . when you restart the computer on monitor yo saw two XP names and count down starts .if u press up arrow your xp open suppose if u press down arrow an message appears that some files missing. actually it should run but by mistake you delete the shared files .

so don't worry take the boot able CD . and try to format the c and d drive completely. boot able CD easily format the c and d drive completely.

freshly you can load XP in your c drive.
