Can i copy my "my documents" folder onto my D drive from my C drive, and then delete the one on the C drive?
Well,right click on "My Documents" icon on Disktop,click on "Properties",click on "Move",select "D" and that's it .

Deleting My Documents from C is not possible, but you can only move it or hide it's icon from Disktop simply by deleting it.
Reply:yes but if your D drive is your CD-ROM drive you will need a blank disc, if it's an internal hard drive then you don't need anything, just copy/paste to D, then delete folder in C
Reply:Yes, Just Copy and Paste then Go Back and Delete
Reply:of couse you could do that! hehehe...

maybe, you are planning to do that because your space in the drive C gets smaller so you have to transfer files to the other drive which is drive D,isn't it?

whatever the case may be, you could do that!

just right click into 'My Documents' then select 'copy' then go to drive D then paste it there! just easy as that! hehehe...

and if you're planning to also transfer other files, just do the same thing..

just change your destination, and that's it!
Reply:Yes you can. just copy to D Drive thats it.
Reply:why not just cut and paste it and save the time it'll take deleting it.
Reply:yes just copy the whole folder onto drive d then delete from drive c

thats it all done !
Reply:You can use CUT and PASTE also.
Reply:so far everyone is wrong!!!

here is how it's done.

right click on your My Documents folder.

select properties

choose the target tab.

move it using this! Just moving the folder will work, but if you do it the right way, all your windows program will be aware of the new location. If you just cut and paste it to another location, all your programs will be confused, because they will still be looking for your documents folder in the default location.

I was just looking this over after my long day at work. I think i should add that you SHOULD move your documents folder onto your d: drive, and do it the way i suggested. This way if you ever have to reinstalll windows, you won't have to worry about your documents getting deleted after the reformat.
Reply:That's right. It can be done.
Reply:Yes, why not? If you want to do it.
