Ok I get it when people delete their questions b/c noone answers or its dumb but why?

do people delete their answers? If its not offensive and you know it did not get reported, then WTF is the reason they delete their answers? You read it and catch it...but then its gone....are they just full of sh*t and then decide that they don't think that way?

I delete my answers sometimes when I see that someone else just posted the exact same thing and just go in ahead of me.





It depends on the type of the question. If it's a poll, I would obviously not delete because you expect lots of answers to be the same but some questions it seems silly to duplicate so I just delete my answer and give a thumbs up to the guy who just got in ahead.





Also, sometimes, I answer before fully engaging my brain and give a sarcastic or "funny" answer. When I see it after I've posted I get second thoughts becos I don't want to upset people and sometimes I delete.

Reply:I think some people answer before reading the whole question and then their answer just doesn't make sense. As for those who will delete a question, they may not notice that Yahoo! Answers sticks them in a certain category and when they do relize it, they may decide to remove it from that category because the answers from that category may be different from those of a different category.
Reply:I always answer to make it the best. Sometimes I edit my answeres. I nevere deleted my answers nor any question.
Reply:Perhaps they find the answer right just after they post the question.
Reply:Don't know about everyone else, but I one time deleted an answer though because it was so wrong I was embarrassed. I misread the question and wrote like a 2 paragraph long answer even telling some others they were wrong in the answers they had given, so I deleted my answer.
