How to delete manually the open with in hard drives C and D in my laptop?

when the virus entered in my laptop,i have a anti virus but its now expired. I try another anti virus, and i succesfully installed by using task killer manager to be able to unblock the virus(the virus dis allow the installation).Now, i have the anti virus, the problem was, i can't connect to the internet to apply for the update,since i have internet connection.Now, i checked the hard drives, i double click it, it says "OPEN WITH..." same tru the D drive. I try restarting, no difference.now, all i need to know..how can i delete manually the open with...i view and show the hidden files and unchecked the two below...i saw lot of hidden files. Now, i have the information about this, one of the hidden files must be deleted, but what file name? I think laptop is different from a desktop computer. i am very glad if you can answer my question...sori for my bad english, im a filipino..hehehe

search for Ravmon.exe if found, delete it


search for AutoRun.inf if found on the drive location delete it


{there will be 1 in Sys32 or Sys don't delete this}


download HijackThis and post the log here in another question and i will analyst it


after virus is removed





Click Start %26gt; run %26gt;regsvr32 shell32.dll /i


restart Computer

Reply:to remove the virus i would suggest


system restore option if your operating system has system restore option install.


Try to command prompt if you know the file of virus located. Make sure go to Safe Mode with Networking Option.


Clean Install if you have operating system cd or system restore.


try with another computer to update virus definitions on usb drive.
Reply:Do it the easy way, insert your Windows CD and do a 'repair' of your operating system. It will keep your programs and documents, but will replace all the system files with the originals. Don't select the first option to repair via the recovery console. There's a second screen where you press 'r' to repair. Hope this helps. (Your english isn't all that bad!)...
Reply:it think you have been struck with a virus. some virus has OPEN WITH when you right click it. please check the filenames of your hidden files. by this, you will counter-check if you really have virus
