Uninstall first the "old" norton version, the delete the directory and install the "new" version.
How to delete "old" Norton 360(is bad) at C:\Program Files, because I am trying for "new"Norton 360
Try Unisntalling it thru the program files at the start menu, if no files, go to control panel, then add/remove programs then find the file and uninstall dont delete, cause delete still leave somne files in the registry.
Reply:the new will need to referance the old files, get to symantec.com
Reply:If the old program is still installed and working:
Click on Start %26gt;%26gt; Control Panel %26gt;%26gt; Add/Remove Programs %26gt;%26gt; and uninstall it
Otherwise
Click on start %26gt;%26gt; Run%26gt;%26gt; now type regedit
Click on FILE %26gt;%26gt; EXPORT browse to c:\ and save as BACKUP.
now press CTRL+F and Type Norton.
Next, Delete all files which are found (highlighted) (on right) and folders (on left).
For finding more files press F3.
Now delete the C:\Program files\Norton 360 folder
Now you will be able to install new version of Norton 360.
If your pc does not install now too, then open c:\ and double click on Backup.
Alternatively you may use Registry Cleaner from www.download.com
www.tucows.com
Thank you
