Use your install disk to delete any partitions there and put in a hew one, at least 25G, or 80% of your HDD space, whichever is most.
Install your new O.S. there and you are finished!
I have an XP service pack 2 disk , how do i delete all files on my c drive %26amp; reinstall disk?
Insert the disk and boot, choose format and after formatting install XP.
Reply:A. Windows XP Pro - This is a system disc
B. Windows XP Service Pack 2 - A free disc from Micro$oft with the complete Service Pack 2 on it for Windows XP.
Choice A above lets you reformat your computer and put Windows XP Pro on your computer.
Choice B insures you have the complete Service Pack 2 added to your Operating System.

Reply:first you need recovery console if it aint already installed on your computer to find out when the computer starts keep hitting F5 or F8 and it will come up with the recovery console, if you have not got it installed the goto start and run and type D:\1386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons once installed goto recovery console again and type fdisk next C:\ fdisk basically, then it will say are you sure, say yes, it will format the entire hard drive everything, then place the disc in the cd drive, restart and let it boot from cd, then follow the instructions, or you can just place the disc in the drive restart the computer, and boot from the disc, and when it gets to te partition part delete the partition on there if you have 2 then delete both you can reinstall another partition later, make sure you have backed everything up on disk you want to keep though as its a pain to find it all again or create again good luck mate
Reply:1. Boot the computer using your Windows XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
2. When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:
To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
3. Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.
To setup Windows XP now and Repair Install , press ENTER. do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
4. Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
5. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair.
6. Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.
7. Reapply updates or service packs applied since initial Windows XP installation. Please note that a Repair Install using an Original pre service pack 1 or 2 XP CD used as the install media will remove SP1/SP2 respectively and service packs plus updates issued after the service packs will need to be reapplied.
Reply:insert the cd and reboot. ensure your bios is set to boot from CD, and press any key and it prompts. When it comes to partitioning the hard disk, delete the current partition (d), and create (c) a new one.
Reply:Dude, boot your system from the XP CD - it will start installation - at one point of time it will ask if you want to format the drive in NTFS or FAT32 or install without formatting.
Select Format FAT32 (or whichever you want) and thats it. It will delete everything %26amp; installs fresh copy
Reply:First of all backup any files you want to keep to a disk, a second hard-drive or USB drive.
Ok, turn on your computer and then put the disk in. Then restart the computer with the disk in the drive as to "boot" from it. Then when it comes to a blue screen push Enter to install Windows, select the current disk (C:) you are running on and push enter and then when it ask's if you want to delete and push enter. Follow the prompts and it will delete your files and then start installing, then after you follow those prompts you should be done.
Reply:Insert your Boot CD in the drive
Reboot your system from CD
Choose Format and Fresh Install
That would erase all data on C and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows XP
