Cleaning up c-drive?
If you format a volume or partition (C:, for instance), all data it contains is removed, including your documents, your settings, your programs and, yes, your operating system too.

So usually, formatting the 'system' hard disk drive (the one that contains your operating system) will be done using the installation disk for the operating system you're planning to install after you formatted that drive.
Reply:Yes, you can format your C: Drive but make sure there is no important data as ALL DATA WILL BE LOST on that drive whenever you format a particular drive.

But before formatting you might like to give a try to antispywares and other utilities to clean up your system. Cuz formatting is the last n final option, if nothing works but it is not an answer to everything.
Reply:if you re-format you will still have your OS, but everything will be deleted. to re-format don't you need the Vista cd?

you could just get spybot or adaware to get rid of the spyware. or use disk defragmenter to clean up your c drive.
Reply:Yes it will delete everything on your hard drive. Vista and all, but you should have gotten a restore disk when you got your computer to replace your operating system.
