Help me!!!!!! i cant delete my videos!?

Can somebody kindly help me with my laptop?!

Recently i have some video files being transfered from a DVD a friend borrowed me. I had placed all the 22 videos on my desktop, [a stupid decision], causing my lap top to lag full-time.

Soon after, i tried to delete all the videos, but somehow 6 videos still seem to remain even though i deleted them and cleared my recycle bin.

What i tried to do afterthat was to move the 6 videos to my C,D drives, delete them again, put them into folders, or change the filename.

But even though i tried to delete them, they will still exist in the same spot even after i rebooted my system.

The friend who lent me his DVD told me his laptop had the same problem, but fortunately, his videos are in a folder, which does not seem to lag him down.

Thank you if you can help me solve my problem! i need my lap top to function properly! THANK YOU!

Well there aren't smart videos like that...

They are probably trojan horses ( i guess videos combined with a virus) and are propably copied somewhere else if they just come back... You should get an antivirus to detect where the problems are... (I recommend you the free AVG since its very good detecting those type of viruses)

The most common for a virus to be copied for backing up is on windows system restore... Try disabling it to delete the files there

and on start--%26gt;run--%26gt;msconfig check that there arent any suspicious files loading when windows start

Also never video files that are like videofilename.avi.mpeg

or something like that 99% they have virus
Reply:First check for viruses, then check (using task manager if you're using windows) if there are any programs that may be using the files.
Reply:You can use a program called "Unlocker" it can unlock files and deletes, moves, renames etc. them. This can work, just install it and right click on a file or folder to unlock and delete.

Reply:Try deleting them from the command prompt.

Select Start/Run type CMD

from the command prompt type

cd desktop

then

dir

for each video

del videoname.avi (WMV what ever)
