I deleted drive c now can't get the install cd to start up.?

Dell computer

I deleted drive c now can't get the install cd to start up.?
in ur BIOS settings (hope u kno that), choose first boot drive as ATAPI CD ROM DRIVE.

It will work, provided the o/s installation cd a bootable one ; )
Reply:Try going to the link below it will tell you how to reinstall. Hope it helps.
Reply:Step away from the computer. You have no business being anywhere near one. If you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing then you have no business deleting the ENTIRE EFFING C DRIVE!! besides, just telling us that its a dell and you deleted the whole thing isn't going to tell us ANYTHING that we can use to help you. Take it to a professional, or better yet, use it as a paperweight, I'm sure you can figure that out.

oh, and btw, don't call dell, they'll want you to buy a service plan for $300 just to walk you through it over the phone. *shakes his head* almost as greedy as the oil companies.
Reply:yeah duh, you deleted the heart and soul of your computer..your hard drive... have fun with that,,,now give me the damn 10 points
Reply:Whoa...

Call Dell.

And for future reference: NEVER DELETE A DRIVE if you don't know what you're doing.
Reply:To be perfectly honest you had to do something really out there to manage to do this operation to begin with. You cant just delete the c drive likes its a normal file. I mean typically if you did that, it would mean you removed more then likely your whole system files and OS, and nothing would be on the drive then. Now if you have it installed on another drive, well that's another story. But in order to delete an entire drive you have to set up certain limitations in your settings. Whoever set up your settings on your computer let it wide open like a baby a candle and gasoline. Yeah I agree you probably should not use a computer again till you get some basic user knowledge or at least watch what your doing before you do it.

And your right with no c drive you will not be able to reload your CD. You have to reformat, and by the way EVERYTHING is lost on that computer.. have a great day.
